Earth — An internal company memo from FMS Mining Industries limited indicates that one of the companies survey vessles located an unusual object several days ago.

The memo, leaked to the Infinite Beyond by an unnamed benifactor, indicates that the object is located within the Sol system's Oort cloud, and has been tenativly dated to being 750,000 years old. While the report is sketchy at best, with large portions edited out by an unknown party, it hints on the 'object' being a ship of some type that was found when the survey ship investigated a metalic signiture coming from a large iceteroid.

It is not unusual for such 'ice balls' to form around a central nucleus of metalic or rocky origin. In fact,
these objects are virtually identical to comets and other debrie that routinly swing into the Sol System
from the Oort cloud which orbits at a distance of 10^5 AU (100000 Astronomical Units, or 93 million miles).

At this time there has been no comment from FMS Mining Industries, only to acknowledge that the memo was indeed from their company and that Starfleet has been notified. Starfleet was unavailable for comment at this time.
