Earth — Fleet Admiral T'Chrissta Ra today announced the new head of Starfleet Medical-Science-Counseling Department. Following the departing of Vice Admiral Eric Davidson, Starfleet announced the opening of the position.

After carefully reviewing the candidates, Rear Admiral Jacen Antilles, the Executive Officer of Starfleet Medical, was chosen to take the top spot. Upon recieving the news directly from Fleet Admiral Ra, Admiral Antilles was quite pleased with the decision. He spoke to reporters outside Starfleet Command Headquarters earlier in the day, "Needless to say, I'm quite pleased with how things turned out. I look forward to serving this department to the best of my abilities and continuing the tradition that my predecssors set in this Division." Starfleet's Executive Officer, Admiral Josh Petrich had this to say to reporters, "I think it was a good decision. He has experience in Medical and is a good officer."

Starfleet Medical is a fairly new division, being made its own department only a few short years ago. The previous commanding officer, Admiral Davidson, took on the responsibilities after the previous Commanding Officer stepped down. Admiral Davidson served for a short while, but helped tremendously in reorganizing the division.
