Alpha Prime — In a letter to foreign governments, the Cimothian Star Empire has called for a wide scale embargo against the Federation. This comes as a response to the Federation's stalled peace talks.

Greetings,

I am Lieutenant Commander Niriya, the Cimothian special envoy to the Federation and the Galaxy at
large, it seems. After many weeks of false starts, and being ignored, my goverment has instructed me to
contact you with a proposal. I do ask that, even if you do not agree, you do not release this information
to the general public.

I'm sure that all of you express various degrees of frustration when dealing with the Federation. They
seem to only acknowledge treaties, and clauses in those treaties, when it suits them. They are also
extremly hard to contact, and maintain a running dialog with. Attempts to negotiate usually seem to
fall back to, "We have bigger guns than you", threats that are frankly growing old.

Several weeks ago a small group of our vessles fell under apparently psychic attack by the Federation. We
have yet to recieve any information from the Federation related to this incident, other than that
they are looking into it and that it was not a decleration of war. My government feels that, if it
was intentional, that it was. However what I am about to propose is a non-violent solution to dealing with
the oppressive UFP government and military.

Almost all of us engage in trade with the Federation, in some form or another, and many Federation firms
maintain bank accounts and holdings in our space. I propose that an embargo be placed on trade and travel
with the Federation, and that all Federation owned assets in our respective space be frozen. With luck,
this will force the Federation to come to terms with their ineffectual way of dealing with other
governments, and repair the system in a manner that facilitates easier communication and cooperation.

We cannot allow the UFP to continue to dictate terms to us in direct violation of our status as sovereign
nations! We must stand up with one voice, proudly, and declare to them that we will not be pushed down and aside at their whim! With a strong, enforced, embargo and a freeze on all Federation assets we can force the Federation's economy to a halt, thereby forcing them to come to us on our terms, not the other way around.
