| Federation/CSE
Treaty Dissolved!
Starbase Normandy
The halls of Starbase Normandy were erily quiet at 0100 hours Saturday
morning. This was due to an order, from the base commander, declaring
a temporary state of martial law. At 0100 hours Admiral Dillonand
a squad of heavily armed Starfleet Marines decended to the CSE Embassy
levels and evicted the Cimothian personal there, at gunpoint.n
Reports are sketchy as to what exactly happened, but 30 minutes
afterwards the CSE Frigate docked at the station departed at a high
rate of speed. Shortly thereafter the CSE released this statement
to the Galaxy at large:
"As of 0100 hours this morning, the Federation has severed all
diplomatic ties with the CSE and evicted our embassy personel on
Starbase Normandy. At gunpoint.
This is a completly unwarrented, and unprovoked, action. Our personel
were not given sufficent warning prior to eviction, and we have
not been told why the Federation took such measures. We can only
guess that it is in retaliation for our self-imposed embargo. Although
this type of reaction is completly out of proportion.
The CSE sees this as a hostile move by the Federation, since our
embassy personel were evicted under armed guard and in a hurried,
unexplained, manner. There was no attempt by the Federation to establish
an alternate means of diplomatic communication, even after our embassy
personel asked for such.
It is the feelings of the CSE that the Federation has reacted in
a totally irresponsable manner, and has no intentions of re-establishing
a diplomatic dialog. As such, we are taking this forced eviction
as the dissolving of the treaty, by the Federation's hands. Any
Federation vessle entering CSE space will be bordered, forceably
if need be, and it's crew arrested. All Federation, and United Federation
of Planets, equipment and personel in our space will immediatly
be expelled or siezed. We beseach all governments who are not currently
participating in the Embargo of the Federation to take this as a
wake up call.
To the Federation I say this, We came to you with an offer of peace
between our peoples. An unprecidented course of action. You initially
excepted, and then went on to treat us as a second rate government.
No, not even that, more like a puppet empire for you to control.
When we stood up for ourselves in a completly non-violent manner,
you responded with marines and idle threats. Know this, we will
NOT be swayed by your threats any longer. We are NOT afraid, if
you intend to continue on this path to war, so be it. The Goddesses
will come down upon you with their holy righteousness and we, their
children, will be victorious! We do not wish another war with you
and your people, but we will not back down if you force it upon
us.
That is all, thank you and may the Goddesses guide you all on your
paths,
Element Commander Nori
Sector Commander"
All attempts to contact the CSE embassy were met with failure, as
the Station's Computer reported it was unable to locate such an
establishment. Anonomous reports from within the fleet indicate
that the Cimothians almost immediatly went to a higher level of
alert, and are moving more ships to the border in response. Time
will tell how far this goes, but it is unlikely that anyone really
wants to see another war like the last one.
The Infinite Beyond was able to got some statements from Rear Admiral
Dillon soon after the incident. While the Federation has yet, at
this time, prepared a statement the good Admiral attempts to answer
some questions and clarify some statements by the Cyth.
"I don't know where the Cyth got the impression that their personel
were removed, 'at gunpoint', this statement is not entirely true.
There was a armed guard around when the message was delievered,
for my mutual protection only. At no time was any weapon pointed
at the Cyth in anger. I'm not sure exactly what would've happened
if they didn't leave in time. Thankfully, it never got to that point.
I wish I could explain the actions that I was commanded to carry
out, but I can not. Fleet Admiral Ra or Admiral Janelle will have
to do this, and I can't speculate on the matter.
