Zapania — Emperor Zapeta met with reporters today to make clear the position of the Zapaneese Empire in response to recent galactic events, and released a statement to reporters.

The short statement to reporters was made on Zapania on the capital and although the Zapaneese pulled out of the embargo, they maintained their stance that Starfleet was not handling external affairs to the best of their ability. What follows is a copy of the transcript.

"In light of recent galactic events, the Zapaneese Empire originally was going to take part in the embargo against the Federation. However, we have decided against participating in this embargo. We will continue to recognize the Cimothian Empire as a sovereign state. We condone the behaivior of not only Starfleet External Affairs but of Starfleet Council as a whole. The lack of communication between Starfleet Council, External Affairs and other organizations has caused not only this recent problem, but numerous other problems and has even led to war. If the Federation thinks they can ignore the rest of the galaxy and do what they want, when they want, they are foolhardy. The organizations of the galaxy respect the Federation, and we demand the respect we deserve in return. As a show of goodwill to all parties involved, we will offer any humanitarian aid necessary to ease the suffering of those who are effected by this embargo. We will also offer our spaceas a neutral meeting place, should the parties involved wish to meet and discuss these matters.
