1. Rigorous Burn in Process
All 3CX800A7 and 3CPX800A7 tubes that Lunar-Link Systems sells are tested and burned in at full power for a minumum of 1 hour (Some tubes are run longer as reqired). As with all electronic components the majority of failures are infant mortality. Lunar-Link Systems eliminates infant mortality problems for you. Any new tube can have out gassing from the materials used in its manufacture. Burn in at 432 MHz rapidly cleans up any out gassing. New tubes can also be subject to arcing due to microscopic particles left over from manufacturing. Lunar-Link Systems' burn in process, on a current limited HV supply, safely brings the tubes through any startup arcing. This thorough burn in process is included in the tube price! The bottom line is: The tubes you receive are ready to run at full power without any hassles!
2. Tubes Are Sold in Matched Pairs.
During the burn in process tubes are selected into matched pairs. This selection is done in the most critical manor, that is, at 432 MHz under full power RF conditions. Do not confuse this full RF power matching with static DC testing! Most tubes sold as "matched pairs" are matched in marketing hype, not it reality. Other "matched pairs" are matched under static DC conditions that really only compare idling current verses bias voltage. Static testing does not account for variations in tube capacitance and dynamic RF operating characteristics which have the largest effect on tube balance at VHF and UHF frequencies. The benefit to you is your LA-Series amplifiers will run at the highest efficiency, lowest drive power and longest tube life.
3. Direct Manufacturer Relationship
Lunar-Link Systems has a direct OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) relationship with CPI-Eimac. The final customers of the tubes are required to pursue any warranty claims through whomever they purchased their tubes from.
