The following pictures were sent by our shipmate:
Richard T. "Dick" Brown
now living in Kuna, Idaho

Subschool Graduation

This is where the majority of us started our submarine service, Submarine School at Groton CT. The sailors pictured here are:1st Row (L to R) Draper, Gertsch, Curtis, Powazanos (The "Greek", he was the section leader), Dickerson, Fracasso (Airdale), Granger. 2nd Row (L to R) Bolger (Instructor), Fries, Fuller, Gill, Courtwright, Chief Wolfe, Granden, Gabrysiak, Dick Brown, Lind, Goldman, Halferty ("Red", Instructor)

USS Sculpin (SSN 590)

After sub school, this is where we went, everybody in the Navy was assigned to the Sculpin. Not really, but this was the first duty station for Richard Brown. This is a picture of the USS Sculpin underway in 1961.

Dolphin Presentation

This is where the hard work pays off. Richard stands proudly (notice the smile) as the Commanding Officer, Commander Mitchell presents him his silver dolphins. Say Rich, how was the chest?

Crossing the equator

Crossing the equator has always brought such joy to the uninitiated. Why the big smile Richard, something interesting just ahead?
